Hozuki Ichi 浅草ほおずき市

7月9日~10日 @浅草寺




July 9-10 @ Sensoji Temple in Asakusa

There is a belief in Sensoji Temple that a prayer offered on July 10 is equivalent to praying 46,000 days, and thus many people have visited the temple on this day. About 100 stalls are set up to sell ground cherry pods in the temple grounds.




Mitama Matsuri みたままつり

July 13 - 16 @ Yasukuni Jinja Shrine

Mitama Matsuri, one of Tokyo’s summer features, connected with traditional Japanese religion and started in 1947.  The precincts are lighted with more than 30,000 lanterns and things such as Bon dance and night stalls will add excitement to the festival.

Kawasaki Daishi Furin-Ichi 川崎大師風鈴市

July 17 - 21 @Kawasaki Daishi Heikenji Temple

Furin-Ichi wind-bell market is held every July at Kawasaki Daishi Heikenji Temple.  The temple collects wind-bells from all over Japan and provides people with lovely tinkle of the bells caused by the summer breeze.




Fuji Rock Festival フジロックフェスティバル' 19

7月26日~28日 @苗場スキー場 新潟


July 26 - 28 @Naeba Ski Resort, Niigata

Biggest Japanese outdoor music festival since 1997. The audience, artists, and DJs gather from all over the world for this biggest event and represent today’s Japanese sub-culture. Quality foods and drinks are renowned for and camping facility as well as bus tours from Tokyo area are available.




Sumida River Fireworks Festival 隅田川花火大会

7月27日 19時~20時半 @墨田公園周辺


7 pm to 8:30 pm,  July 27 @Sumida Park, Asakusa

Japan’s oldest fireworks festival dates back to 1733, where it was held in memory of the victims of a severe famine the previous year. It turned into an annual event in 1978 and is now Tokyo’s biggest hanabi event, with close to a million people gathers and enjoys over some 22,000 rockets lighting up the night sky.




Shinjuku Eisa Festival 2019  新宿エイサーまつり

7月27日 @新宿駅 東/西口一帯


July 27  @Shinjuku Station

Eisa is a traditional music / dance in Okinawa. Many Eisa teams will gather around Shinjuku Station to provide visitors enthusiasm and passion!
