Jingu Fire Works Festival 神宮外苑花火大会

August 10 @ Meiji Jingu Baseball Stadium

Join the lively crowd of yukata-wearing visitors who are gathering for this popular fireworks festival in which 12,000 fireworks are launched into the air from Jingu Baseball Stadium. You can get the best view from one of the three stadiums participating in this event (Meiji Jingu Baseball Stadium, Chichibunomiya Rugby Stadium and Meiji Jingū Gaien Softball Stadium) but expect to be paying between ¥3,500 and ¥9,000 for tickets. Visitors at Meiji Jingu Baseball Stadium will also be able to enjoy performances from several soon to be announced artists. If you don’t feel like spending the big bucks, gather around the area surrounding the stadium, where you can catch the fireworks display for free. Kioicho or Shibuya area has easy access or even possibly viewable from the areas on higher floor.

Christian Boltanski is a French artist renowned as sculptor and mixed media artist. His current exhibition has philosophy of death, lifetime, and next life. It has spiritual and storytelling upon homage for Japanese culture also. Since August is the season of Obon, when to celebrate family spirits returning to real life, it is worthwhile to visit his shows. The museum has interesting modern architectural style also. Straight access from Nigizaka station or easy walk access from Roppongi station.

Hibiya Park, located in the middle of Tokyo, is a public park adjoining the Imperial Palace, and is one of the oldest public parks in Japan. For details about this place, see the article on Hibiya Park.

Many events are held throughout the year at here. A bon-odori dance festival held in late August is one of them.Enjoy summers in Japan at one of the biggest Bon-odori festivals in Tokyo, where everyone is welcome. Great event to drop by after work if you are about to be in Marunouchi or Ginza , Shiodome, Hibiya area or Kioicho area even has great access to it.

With more than 10,000 dancers and a million spectators, music, rhythm, smiles and infectious enthusiasm will bring the street of Koenji to life. Renowned as fashion and alternative cultural town. Easy access from Akasaka, Akihabara, Tokyo ( Marunouchi ) area.

Asakusa Samba Carnival is one of Japan’s most popular summer events.
